Fidelis Laia desperate and date less in Oz
Crazy unlucky?
Or are opponents really starting to take notice?
Last month, Fidelis "The Bougainville Bomber" Laia ventured to Queensland, Australia, ready to make his mark on the international boxing scene. He arrived fit, prepared and hungry to prove himself in the professional ranks.
But what followed was almost unbelievable!
Not one, not two, not even three opponents fell by the wayside.
Fidelis went through no less than FOUR opponents, with the final withdrawal coming after the weigh-in and face-off on fight day !!
But could there be more to the story?
Following his impressive knockout victory in Manila in August, has the relatively inexperienced professional from Bougainville, Papua New Guinea, suddenly become a fighter nobody wants to face?
We'll leave you to draw your own conclusions!
THE BOMBER SPEAKS
Fidelis didn't hide his disappointment, but his determination remains stronger than ever.
"I trained hard, and was really wanting to show the people of Australia my knockout power.
Boxing is a dangerous sport and people get injured, but to lose four opponents?
I really think that when they saw me, they did not want to fight me.
It's a shame, but for me, I will put all my energy into my next fight.
I promise I will bring a lot of excitement to all those that support and follow my journey as a pro."
THE BOMBER COULD BE HEADING BACK TO MANILA!
The good news?
Fidelis may not have to wait long for another opportunity to unleash his power!
VSP Promotions can report that the Bougainville Bomber is likely to return to Manila, Philippines, for another major international bout in late November.
Four Aussie opponents may have slipped away, but Fidelis Laia isn't going anywhere.
His journey is just getting started.
