The "Hanoi Hitman", Nguyen Van Hai returns this Saturday to VSP PRO
VSP boxers Charly Suarez and Nguyễn Văn Hải are arguably the best fighters that their respective countries have ever produced. The two are friends from their days as national team amateurs, and they even fought in an exhibition mstch at Victory8 in Hanoi in 2019. Last night in Sydney, Charly Suarez moved a step closer to his world title dream with a knockout win over Australian Paul "Showtime" Fleming, an unbeaten star unbeaten in 28 fights. Nguyễn Văn Hải is rapidly climbing in the professional ranks also. The "Hanoi Hitman" has 3 wins, and will be looking to add to his tally at VSP PRO on Saturday March 25th.

The word is that Australian Paul Fleming has been on fire in training, and has been shredding sparring partners in advance of his huge clash with Charly Suarez on March 15th. "Charly Suarez, your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to take down undefeated 28-0 Australian champion Paul "Showtime" Fleming, and bring back the WBC, WBA, IBF and IBO belts. All of them ! In doing so, you will do your country a great service, and you will go to top 10 in the world, and become mandatory for IBF and IBO World titles. You will also become the likely target of Liam Wilson, the first man to drop Emanuel Navarrete. This message will self destruct in 10 seconds. Good luck Charly "

Mark John Yap opened his new year account in stunning fashion, scoring a stoppage win over what appeared to be a very good version of Philippines Lightweight Leonardo Doronio. Unable to secure a suitable 130 opponent for his first hitout of the year, Yap opted to jump a weight class and get a physical exam with the vastly experienced and durable Doronio. It was very noticeable at the weigh-in, that aside from being the much larger boxer, Leonardo Doronio was in the best physical shape that he has been in for a very long time. And he performed very well, while it lasted, and we look forward to seeing Doronio back again this year to see what he can produce...more..
WHO WANTS TO GET THEIR ASS KICKED ? Le Hoang Hiep is calling out anybody willing to get in the ring with him February 25th for the upcoming VSP PRO at VSP Gym in HCMC. Life insurance I mean !I watched that guy JonJon Estrada recently, and wow, that's a guy who really knows how to clean house. I think I've learned some new stuff watching him...more..
Live boxing in Ho Chi Minh City is BACK !FINALLY ! Two years of miserable pandemic, and Saigon has been starved of action packed sports entertainment. VSP PRO will showcase some of Vietnam's best young prospects - all making their professional debuts.7 great fights boasting whiz kids from Saigon and Hanoi - including a bout featuring two hot girls that are desperate for north/south bragging rights.
Paul Fleming has questioned the experience of Liam Wilson's team after the younger man's controversial world-title loss, saying he would never have let the weigh-in go ahead. And the ageing super featherweight says he will not be a "rebound fight" after being called out following Wilson's gut-wrenching defeat in Phoenix.Wilson has appealed against the decision in his loss to Emanuel Navarrete, keeping alive slim hopes of a rematch after footage showed a 27-second allowance - almost triple the traditional count - when the Australian floored the red-hot favourite in the fourth round...more...
Le Hoang Hiep took a dive in the deep end when he took on the Philippines Jetro Pabustan last December. Despite jumping some weight classes, the rumored Russian gang member was confident he could handle the former WBO World title contender, and true to his word, he delivered a great all action display. Baby Kong will return to the ring for VSP PRO this month, and as usual, he is immodest about his prospects."Please get me the address of my opponent's parents, I will send an apology note and flowers. Sorry for the ass kickin' It was just all business. Signed Baby Kong!"
The team of Liam Wilson have turned their attentions to Australian indigenous star Paul Fleming, and possibly to Teofimo Lopez conqueror George Kambosos, if they are not granted a rematch after Saturday's controversial title fight in the US.The No Limit team have lodged a complaint regarding the delay (up to 28 seconds) afforded to Emmanuel Navarrete after Wilson dropped him in the 4th round of their fight.Paul Fleming has an outstanding record of 28 and 0, and many regard the man dubbed "Showtime" as the most naturally talented Aussie fighter in recent years. He is also ranked in the top 15 with the IBF, WBA and WBC, and will force his way into the top 10 assuming he is successful in his next bout on March 16th...click for more...
When talking about the fabled Vietnamese Tiger fighting spirit, they surely must have based the narrative around Thai Hoang Huy ! This former HCMC Muay Thai champion fell in love with boxing only in recent times, and made his debut in an exhibition bout against an absolute killer named JonJon Estrada - a man who has created absolute carnage in just about every fight he contests. ..click for more...
Lots of interest in this one. Outstanding featherweight Emmanuel Navarrete moves up a weight class in an effort to take the vacant WBO super featherweight title. Former world champ Oscar Valdez was the original opponent slated for Navarrete, but was subsequently replaced by Australian Liam Wilson.Wilson is well known to Philippines fans as the man dropped by Joe Noynay, subsequently reversing that outcome in a rematch. Wilson is a big 130lb fighter and always in great shape, so it will be interesting to see if Navarrete is as effective in the new weight class against a larger and heavy handed opponent.
Palawan pugilist Erson Trinidad heads to Korakuen Hall Tokyo tomorrow, fuelled with the task of spoiling the pro debut of Japanese boxer Ryusei Matsumoto. The local boxer is a well performed amateur, who even got to face Carlo Paalam in the 3 round format. But he has a significant task tomorrow against the boy from Puerto Princesa. Erson "the Trigger" Trinidad has already notched up 5 wins and 3 knockouts, and his aim will be to show the Japanese crowd a bit of that famous Palawan island spice tomorrow.
Two of the best young emerging talents in the Philippines come out of Quibors Boxing Gym in Manila. Weljon Mindoro and Jerald Into are still in the learning phase of their boxing careers, but have performed amazingly well so far, and have both managed to maintain unbeaten records. Unlike many of their industry colleagues, Mindoro and Into are blessed with height and wing span, and this will be a huge asset once they progress to international bouts. Jerald Into has already had a taste, putting on a great performance to outpoint top Vietnam visitor Nguyễn Văn Hải at home in Manila in August 2022...click for more...
Leonardo Doronio and Mark John Yap were the two most experienced boxers to grace the ring at REVOLUTION yesterday. Both boxers looked in great shape, and it was very definitely the best version of Doronio we have seen in recent fights. He pumped out skillful jabs that forced Yap to change position in the early rounds, and looked very comfortable in defense. Doronio also looked more dynamic than he has in a long while, and always looked dangerous. Based on yesterday's performance, Leonardo Doronio has a lot more wins in store...click for more...

We got Canada v Estrada #2 coming tomorrow ! Their first clash was fight of the year, and it's on again, as Pablito Canada and JonJon Estrada made weight just moments ago. These two killers go at it in a "no place for the faint hearted" featherweight war tomorrow in Parañaque City. Both fighters approach tomorrow's clash brimming with confidence, having executed stoppage wins at their most recent appearances. The Wolverine JonJon Estrada is especially adept in this department, and some would say an expert. He has put opponents to the canvas in 14 of his 15 victories !! Ouch !!
With near 100 professional fights between them, Leonardo Doronio and Mark John Yap qualify as the two most experienced performers at tomorrow's REVOLUTION event in Parañaque. "Toto" Doronio has chalked up 18 wins, and was formerly a main sparring partner to boxing legend Manny Pacquiao. He was an impressive winner against Jimmy Borbon, before showing all his ring guile in dealing with a very offensive Arnel Baconaje. Mark John Yap's deeds in Japan prior to the pandemic are legendary. It's accurate to say that he shredded some of that country's very best fighters in perhaps their strongest weight class. His return to the Philippines with excellent showings against Charly Suarez and Junior Kauko Raka were ominous signs that foreshadow a big 2O23. These boys are quality, and the 135 works in favour of Doronio. Don’t miss this tomorrow.
Southpaw Jason "Manifesto" Buenaobra and Jonathan Francisco face off before they meet again at UKC REVOLUTION tomorrow. The boys will fight over 8 rounds in the Super Bantamweight division.UKC REVOLUTION 2O23 Elorde Sports Complex Parañaque Manila Monday January 30th
Novice boxers and with plenty of upside suitably describe Marklin Itim and Clarence Breboneria, who are perfectly matched at tomorrow's REVOLUTION event. Both fighters have two wins in the professional ranks, and both have aspirations to have big careers in the sport of boxing. Marklin Itim clearly has the edge in experience, having competed really well in matches with top opponents like Lorenz Ladrada and Remon Basas.
Sydney Australia Friday March 17th *special thanks to Pareng B.Vlog for the awesome video and support toward Philippines boxers.
Anton Maglinte stars in one of the early bouts at Monday's REVOLUTION event in Parañaque. The Manila based southpaw takes on debutant Raizen Jay Dela Fuente, a fighter with lots of amateur experience. Maglinte comes into the contest with two fights under his belt, and despite those being defeats, it's notable that he did some good things against promising boxers Noriel De Chavez and Carlo Diaz.
Two of the most promising young boxers in the Philippines got a surprise visit from the King's Warrior Charly Suarez earlier today.Jerald Into and Weljon Mindoro are both improving boxers on a steep learning curve, but have been outstanding in their ring performances so far. They also show all the attributes of excellent fundamentals provided by the hard working coaches at Quibors Boxing Gym...click for more...
This has all the makings of a spectacular main event.Ronnie "Jong Jong" Baldonado has been training like a demon in Manila, and is promising a torrid welcome for visiting Mindanao boxer - Sanman's Ben Mananquil.Mananquil, who is reverently known as "The Nightmare" has looked great in two outings since the pandemic, with a 4th round stoppage win over Crison Omayao, before losing to unbeaten South African star Phumelele Cafu, who was rated #11 in the world. The Nightmare did some good work early in that match, but it's fair to say that he was stylistically unsuited to his fellow southpaw opponent, and he is likely to have the ideal dance partner in Baldonado.
Claudevan Sese was a late inclusion for the upcoming REVOLUTION event at the expense of the injured Giovanni Escaner. Sese already looks in demonic shape, and at 128lb, is only 6lb away from the super bantamweight limit of 122lb. That's 6lb, and we are 6 days out. Easy work !
One of Australia's most colourful and entertaining fighters is also one of that country's BEST EVER.Paul Fleming 28-0 will take on Philippines freak talent Charly Suarez in Sydney on March 17th. The indigenous star known as SHOWTIME has got it all.
The brand of warfare comes in many shapes, sizes and colours. The Elorde team are greeting the new year in style, thanks to the fantastic support from Mr. Raoul Navarrete and the talented team at Be Athletic. Former Olympian and still unbeaten pro boxer Charly Suarez faces a fellow undefeated opponent in Paul Fleming of Australia in what could be the toughest stumbling block to his world title dream. The showdown between the two undefeated fighters will be held in Australia on March 17, with multiple super featherweight 130lb titles on the line, including the International Boxing Federation Intercontinental, World Boxing Association Oceania, World Boxing Council Asian Boxing Council and the International Boxing Organization Intercontinental belts.“This will be the biggest fight in Australia this year,” said Robert Hill, Suarez’s promoter...click for more...
JonJon Estrada meets Pablito Canada for the second time at UKC REVOLUTION 2O23 next Monday.Their first fight was one of the most exciting of the year, with Canada dropped multiple times, and Estrada significantly wobbled. To make things even more interesting, Pablito Canada has rebounded since with an outstanding knockout win over the previously unbeaten Michael Casama. Canada has chased Estrada to avenge their initial meeting, and is confident of reversing the result....click for more...
Manila's Pablito Canada had a career record that included a run of losses, but all against the big dogs, and they were bouts where he was responsible for some great performances. So when he faced JonJon Estrada, he knew he was facing a dangerous yet flawed fighter, and it was a match that he was super confident of winning. Estrada v Canada was a slugfest, and in spite of Pablito reversing his fortunes and putting the Wolverine in trouble, he ultimately fell for the trap of going toe to toe with a knockout artist...click for more...

The closest thing Manila has to a modern day super hero is right now on a blood lust, and he is counting the days for his ring return at UKC REVOLUTION 2023 at the end of this month. The Wolverine is back, and is already in what appears to be menacing shape, all set to face a previous and very determined foe - Pablito Canada. Canada pulled off an outstanding knockout performance last start against the unbeaten Michael Casama, and is confident about repeating the dose with JonJon Estrada. The tall and rangy fighter considered himself unlucky when he previously tackled the Wolverine, and has been desperate to make amends ever since.

The last time JonJon Estrada met Pablito Canada, the short and violent exchange laid claims to being the most exciting fight of the year. The Wolverine was at his bombastic best, dropping the rugged Canada three times in the opening round.
