The King is back! Marvilo “the King” Aballe hasn’t stepped through the ropes since early 2019, and returns next month to match skills with the highly promising Ranelio Quizo. But whilst Quizo has had a busy year, including a recent win over Joseph Bayubay, Aballe has been left to hone his craft in the gym. Marvilo Aballe is a product of Panabo City in Davao, and made a successful debut back in 2013 scoring a stoppage victory. He went on to win his next 5 bouts, before a contentious split decision loss to Ronerex Dalut. This has proved to be the only loss in his career thus far, and the King has managed to put together 8 solid victories. His template for success has been good from the start. Aballe is a short, stocky fighter that works from a relatively square orthodox stance. He employs a strong high guard, but defends the body really well. He boxes inside and mid range, and picks his opportunities really well from those strategic positions.
Aballe knows how to probe for options, but his best work seems to be from counters against impatient opponents. His record attests to the fact that he is not a power puncher, but he does mix volume and power really well, and he is the proud owner of a deft overhand right! There is no doubt that Aballe has all the attributes to give Ranelio Quizo plenty to think about! His challenge will be to shake off the disadvantages of having to lose a lot of weight in short time, and the potential ring rust that may show due to lack of competing in recent years. But the marvellous news is that Marvilo “the King” Aballe is going to be back on his throne at the Ultimate Knockout Challenge , and we wish him a great performance upon his return.
