The Bohol prodigy returns from a two year absence this December. Vitor stamped himself as one of the Philippines' most promising fighters amassing 15 wins by the time he was 22. He capped a great 2019 with an authoritative win over Alan Alberca, and was later selected to join the World team to fight the Vietnam team in Hanoi. Virgel Vitor put on a great boxing display at that Victory8 match in front of a crowd of 25,000 people. Don't miss the return of this future superstar on December 4!
Congratulations to our friend Virgel Vitor on his recent WBO Oriental title win.
Vitor scored a spectacular round 3 KO of Thailand's Arnon Yupang to secure the belt.
The Bohol fighter, known as Valiente, was a World Team member at the VSP Promotions Victory8 event held in Hanoi in late 2019. Vitor fought a superb battle with Vietnam Team's Nguyễn Văn Gioi in front of a crowd of 25,000 people, and it was obvious from his performance that night that he had a very big future.
Well done on your victory Virgel, and wishing you further success in your path ahead.
There were lots of promising fighters at last night's show in Bohol, spearheaded by victories by local Virgel Vitor and Davao's Charly Suarez in the co-main events.
Rhonvex Capuloy is definitely one to keep on the watch list, scoring a stoppage win with a body shot in the second round.
Perhaps the most competitive contest of the night was between Joseph Sumabong and Zandy Padiran, with Sumabong prevailing with a points win.
This was high quality work from both fighters, and whilst Sumabong deserved the decision with some artful strikes, Zandy Padiran was ultra impressive. It is almost impossible to believe that these two fighters only have four wins between them, as they both showed signs of being way more experienced. Definitely put a watch on these two, they are both excellent.

The appearance of Philippines best boxer Charly Suarez is a huge treat for locals, as it is likely the last opportunity to seem him perform live. His bout will be a prelude to a WBA defense in Manila on August 7th, which will likely mark the champ's last local appearance for some time.
It is expected that Suarez will fight overseas in October, and again in Vietnam on December 11th, in pursuit of more titles and world rankings.

Charly Suarez defends his WBA title in Manila on August 7th, but will take part in a provincial event this Friday to assist in his preparations for that task.
And because Bohol love their boxing!
Some great fighters will compete at the show, including local star Virgel Vitor (16 wins), Danrick Sumabong (11 wins) and Rhonvex Capuloy (7 wins).
This is a great opportunity for Suarez to get some rounds in before his Manila assignment on August 7th.
Expect a WBA title opponent to be named for the King's Warrior in coming days.
Palawan beach boy Lorence Rosas has arrived in Manila, and is already busy in camp for next month's TIGER 2022.
The x-factor southpaw, labeled the "Pride of Palawan", last fought in December against a much bigger Virgel Vitor, and there was plenty to like about his performance.
Rosas will drop to 126 to take on the promising Jestine Ace Tesoro, a winner of 5 bouts. This is a great featherweight match up, and it will be interesting to see how Tesoro's height and skills fare against the unpredictable southpaw style of Rosas.

The very talented southpaw Lorence Rosas returned to the ring after an extended break last year, and despite his best laid plans, the comeback proved to present significant challenges!
"The Pride of Palawan" had to overcome a bout of COVID, a cancelled fight, and multiple quarantines, yet still managed to secure fights against two of the very best fighters in the Philippines. Impressively, Rosas took these bouts at a heavier weight class in order to "fight" his way back into the rankings. His most recent performance against giant super featherweight Virgel Vitor was quality, and he gave the top class Bohol boxer total hell from start to finish.
And as if the year hadn't been difficult enough, returning home to Palawan in December had more surprises in store. Typhoon Odette ravaged Puerto Princessa, and unfortunately, the house of the Rosas family was destroyed. While many others spent Christmas around the tree, Lorence languished in a tent!
Onward and upward, and the very resilient Lorence Rosas attacks the new year with renewed zest, returning for TIGER 2022 on March 5th.
This will prove to be a really interesting measure of Rosas, who will drop to the more suitable featherweight division. In fact if things go to plan, expect to see the talented Palawan boxer settle back at 122 pounds in the near future.
With 2021 best forgotten, the exciting news is that the Pride of Palawan is back, and ready to show he belongs.

Boxing fans have had a frustrating wait, and for Virgel Vitor, it must seem like an eternity! The outstanding Bohol prodigy hasn't laced up the gloves since 2019, when he won by impressive KO as undercard to Mark Magsayo. But the big news breaking is that Vitor is set to make a return to the ring before the end of this year! It is expected that Virgel Vitor will join with a line up of pinoy boxing stars in what is shaping as the best fight card seen in recent years.
"Valiente" is one of the hottest prospects in the Philippines, having notched up 15 quick wins in a short career. Vitor was also selected to compete in the "World Team" at Victory 8 in Hanoi in 2019, along with Charly Suarez, Jenel Lausa and Claudevan Sese.
Bohol's Virgel Vitor and Palawan's Lorence Rosas' clash was high quality, and both boys signalled better things to come in the very near future.
Vitor put everyone on notice that he is one of the Philippines best young prospects with a superb welcome back performance. His work rate was high, and he was always asserting himself to create opportunities. He also looked way more imposing at this new weight of 130 pounds.
Southpaw Lorence Rosas looks to be rapidly returning to the fighter that gave Magic Mike Plania night tremors back in 2016. On June 3rd, VBO President Dr. Lim Song attended 40th IBF Convention in Atlantic city, USA. There, Dr. Song made a formal proposal to host 2026 IBF Convention in Vietnam.
The global convention bring together 300~400 experts in the professional boxing industry across the world.
Hosting a Global Convention for the International Boxing Federation (IBF) in Vietnam would offer a multitude of benefits, not just for the boxing community but for the country as a whole.
